Wuxi: Police suppress homebuyers’ complaint
Recently, complaints about unfinished real estate projects have been heard more and more throughout China.
“Xiexin Chenglifang” is one of the large unfinished real estate projects in Wuxi city. The construction was started in 2012 by Xiexin Tianjiao Property. It is located in the eastern city of Wuxi and has halted its construction since the summer of 2021. In October, the developer’s parent company, Chongqing Sincere Property Co., began bankruptcy proceedings.
Starting in August 2021, some homebuyers have begun to reflect on this problem. A homebuyer said the purchase and sale contract was signed in March 2021 and the seller always insists that it is a project with government shares. They promised that in July 2021 they would hand over the complete property. However, the project has been suspended for unknown reasons.
So far, homebuyers’ problems have not been satisfactorily resolved. Discontent reached the climax, and they began to protest for their rights. Many videos on the internet show people gathering in front of the Xiexin center building for a long time to protest on July 25. However, the police force was present and stopped the demonstration. They even used force to suppress the homebuyers.
Greedy business practice: oil-water mixtures
The “oil mixed with water” is the use of physical or chemical synthesis to mix water into gasoline. In this way, corrupt businessmen can make high profits.
Since water is heavier than gasoline, the water in these oil-water mixtures is deposited at the bottom of the fuel tank. When the amount of water is not large, the water will not reach the inlet of the fuel pump and will not be pressurized and delivered to the gasoline nozzle of the engine, thus not affecting the engine operation. Therefore, the vehicle’s owner did not detect it immediately after refueling. However, the water level at the bottom of the fuel tank, which accumulates over time, will one day be higher than the inlet position of the fuel pump and be delivered to the fuel line, causing damage to the vehicle.
ATMs use restrictions in Shanghai
According to Chinese media, people have recently complained a lot about the inability to use ATMs.
Tian, a local from Baoshan District, Shanghai, said she came to the Agricultural Bank of China Baoshan Yuepu Sub-branch to withdraw money on July 17. The two ATMs said, “Maintenance, please wait.” After waiting for more than ten minutes, there was still no progress. Ms. Tian had to go to the lobby to get a service.
She added that ATMs are still very important for older people. They are not used to “scan code to pay” and rely on cash for consumption. When receiving monthly pensions, it is most convenient to use ATMs. ATMs are even more valuable in the current context of being lined up for long times at service in the bank.
As reported by Chinese media, to stop the virus’s spread through cash, many banks have closed the ATMs to set them up with a single function that can only deposit or withdraw money. [image: This ATMs only deposit, can’t withdraw] Banknotes must be added and withdrawn entirely on manual labor. Due to untimely maintenance, citizens cannot deposit and withdraw funds on a regular basis.
