During a nearly two-hour video conference on Friday, March 18, focused on the Ukraine situation, Joe Biden warned Chinese leader Xi Jinping of the “implications and consequences” of giving Russia material assistance for its war against Ukraine.

White House statement said the American president outlined plans to “prevent and then respond to the invasion, including by imposing costs on Russia.”

According to China’s official Xinhua News Agency, Xi told Biden, “The Ukraine crisis is something we don’t want to see,” adding, “Conflict and confrontation are not in the interests of anyone.”
