The Los Angeles County clerk’s office reported on Monday, Oct. 5, that about 2,100 people living in Woodland Hills received defective ballots that did not have the section to vote for president, according to a Breitbart article.

One of the residents who received a defective ballot reported it to authorities, who replied that they would send him a new one the next day.

Michael Sanchez, the spokesman for the county office told the LA Times, “We are now in the process of alerting all affected voters in this precinct of the error by robocall and email, and tomorrow morning we will be mailing out new, corrected ballots with a letter describing the error.”

In May, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order mandating universal mail-in ballots throughout the state of California with a voter roll of about 21 million.

Newsom used the pandemic as a justification to order universal mail-in ballots, even though President Trump has strongly opposed such a process because of the susceptibility to fraud. This massive mistake adds to the concerns that this is not a safe procedure.

“Elections and the right to vote are foundational to our democracy,” Newsom said at the time. “No Californian should be forced to risk their health in order to exercise their right to vote.” However, Dr. Fauci stated that with proper precautions, there should be no problem for people to vote in person.

Mark Levin, a conservative constitutional lawyer and radio and TV personality with a segment on Fox News, devoted one of his programs to voting by mail, explaining that there are several problems with universal mail-in ballots.

Some examples include, many voter rolls are outdated, that is, people have moved to another state but did not alert the voter registration office of their change of address, or human errors in filling out the information on the ballots that could invalidate it, the delay in counting them in a timely manner when the U.S. postal service is not ready for such a massive amount of mail.

Another Fox News report reported that some 11,000 voters in North Carolina received votes with incorrect pre-filled personal information due to a programming error at the printing press.

On Sept. 24, it was reported that nine military discarded votes were found in the state of Pennsylvania and seven of these were for President Trump.

While the reported numbers do not appear to be quantitative when viewed in isolation, placing them in a larger picture, they do make a difference and should be a wake-up call for those concerned about fair and secure elections.
